Dr. Alex McMinn is the owner and clinic director of Potochiro, with over 30+ years of experience as a sports chiropractor. He has dedicated his career to helping athletes and individuals alike reach their optimal physical and mental potential through a combination of chiropractic care, specific exercises, and proper nutrition.
Dr. McMinn received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life Chiropractic College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine. He is licensed by the National Board of Examiners and the Virginia Board of Medicine and is also a certified personal trainer. His expertise lies in sports performance, rehabilitation, and overall wellness.
He is well-recognized for his work with athletes at all levels. He served as the official Team Chiropractor for the Washington Redskins for two seasons and has treated players across the National Football League (NFL) since 1999. His passion extends to young athletes as well, where he helps them develop and adapt to the demands of high school, college, and club-level competition.
Dr. Karen S. Benton cares for her patients using a 'whole person' approach to wellness. This means her focus is on improving the overall health of each individual patient through treating the underlying cause of illness and pain and not just treating symptoms alone.
Through gentle chiropractic care, combined with an extensive background in nutrition and body conditioning, Dr. Karen is able to make lifestyle changes to optimize normal function to assist you on your journey to health.
Dr. Karen received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1998. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences. Post-doctoral studies include ART (Active Release Technique), Whiplash/auto injuries, and Pediatric care. She is certified in the Webster technique, successfully turning many babies while in the womb. She enjoys working with families and has done extensive research on diet and nutrition and their importance to healthy development and function, both in children and in adults. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as running, yoga and body conditioning.
